Life/Long Term Care Insurance

There are two basic types of Life Insurance - both have many options:
Term Life Insurance This type of insurance genrally has no cash value, and generally has the lowest premiums. You pay a fixed rate for premiums over a predetermined term, then renew the policy for another term at a new rate until you pass on. Then the face value of the policy is paid to your beneficiaries. You can also choose to prepay the premiums. Whole Life Insurance This is a type of life insurance that is designed to cover you for the rest of your life, rather than for a fixed term. This insurance builds up a cash value that may be borrowed against in times of need. You pay the premium for a time period, and then death benefits are paid to your beneficiaries even if you die after the period is over, as long as you have paid all the premiums. You can prepay premiums if you choose. Policies are designed to cover unexpected costs for hospital stays. Typical plans provide a fixed benefit amount for each day spent hospitalized and can cover expenses that your other insurance policies don't cover.
Long Term Care Insurance Long-term care insurance helps pay for the costs associated with long-term care. The insurance covers care generally not covered by individual or group health insuranceor Medicare. The policy helps cover the costs of that when you have a chronic medical condition, a disability or a cognative disorder such as Alzheimer's disease. |
